| GNCC Rd 9 The Wisp 6/25/06 |
Had a good race at The Wisp, all was going great
until about the 3rd lap, and with all the mud and
rain I lost my front brakes and then my back,
then had a front flat tire, a big bummer but at
least I managed to finish out with a 2nd.

GNCC Youth Series - Showtime GNCC in Missouri

ASHBURN STEALS THE SHOW IN THE SHOW ME STATE AND
TAKES HIS FIRST CAREER OVERALL WIN
Jordan Ashburn and his #5 KTM took the top honors
at the Show Time race during Round 5 of the GNCC
Youth Series. This was Ashburn’s first overall
win in the youth series and his first class win
in the Big Wheel 14-15. Despite the large amount
of rain fall and extremely muddy conditions
Ashburn maneuvered his KTM 105 out to the front
of the pack of 56 riders on lap 4 and held on for
the next two laps to take the win. The Tennessee
native and Mid South Mini Champion, Ashburn,
ended the winning streak for the current point’s
leader in the Big Wheel 14-15 class, Cory
Buttrick...

"P.A. Allen, Jeff Russell, and Jordan Ashburn
savored the morning race podium. It was a
grueling, slick track, but they each had a great
ride maneuvering the lead. On the first lap,
Ashburn was the frontrunner...Allen won while
Russell and Ashburn followed"

"Ashburn won 200 B class and then
charged his way through two B classes and
the entire A classes, finishing in fifth place in
overall while Welch, the fastest A rider, got
fourth place...
In a Kawasaki sweep, the next three finishers
proved that there were some fast novice
riders too. No doubt, they are making plans for
the AA level in the near future. Still too
young to venture that AA route, Loupie Lambruno
and Jordan Ashburn are quickly
making names for themselves. The past winter
season introduced them as some very
strong riders with Ashburn claiming the Junior A
Championship. They raced hard;
topping their B classes and then going for the
top five."

Buttrick and Ashburn Battle the General -
Buttrick takes the Win
By Valorie Buttrick
Round 2 of the GNCC Youth Bike Series heated up
in Georgia with the KTM of Cory Buttrick and the
Kawasaki of Jordan Ashburn in the Big Wheel (14-
15) class. Buttrick and Ashburn swapped back and
forth during the seven lap race with just five,
two and seven seconds between the front two
riders on some laps. Cory B and the #121 KTM had
the lead when the two lap board came out and
pulled away from Jordan’s #5 Kawasaki to take the
win with just 40 seconds between the first and
second place finishers. Buttrick packed his
second 2006 overall trophy back to southern Ohio.
The third-place overall finish went again to
Walker Fowler who is in the (12-13) Big Wheel
Class. Walker started in the second wave of
riders but worked his way through the pack to
grab the third place overall trophy. Cory “Bones”
MacDonald grabbed the third place finish in the
Big Wheel (14-15) class aboard his #8 Yamaha.
Gregory Funk and Jobey West rounded out the top
five in the class.
